Connect with nature through stories, crafts, and creative activities at the Nature House! Looking for a fun, nature-inspired activity to enjoy with your little one? Join Stanley Park Ecology for Nature Tales, a family-friendly drop-in program for children ages 2–6 and their guardians. Hosted at the Nature House on the shores of Lost Lagoon, Nature Tales invites children to discover the natural world around them through colourful storybooks, crafts, and hands-on creative activities. Each session explores themes connected to Stanley Park’s animals, plants, and ecosystems, with stories and activities designed especially for young children. The program also highlights books written by Indigenous authors, offering families opportunities to discover diverse stories and perspectives connected to nature. What to expect Each Nature Tales session combines: Nature-themed story time Enjoy engaging picture books featuring animals, plants, habitats, and the natural world. Creative activities Get hands-on with simple crafts and activities inspired by the stories and nature around us. Nature exploration Learn about the plants, animals, and ecosystems found in and around Stanley Park. Family time A relaxed, welcoming opportunity for young children and their guardians to learn and explore together. Each session is a standalone drop-in program, so families are welcome to join us for one session or come to multiple! Where 712 Lost Lagoon Path, Vancouver, BC V6G 1Z4 Nature House, Stanley Park The Nature House is located beside Lost Lagoon and offers a welcoming place to learn about the plants and wildlife of Stanley Park. Who can participate? Nature Tales is designed for children ages 2–6, with a parent, guardian, or other adult caregiver present. No previous nature knowledge or experience is needed, just bring your curiosity and imagination! How to participate Nature Tales is a drop-in program. No registration is required. Simply come to the Nature House during the scheduled session. By donation: cash or card accepted. Your donations help support Stanley Park Ecology’s education and conservation programs. Come explore with us! From forest animals to plants, wetlands, and everything in between, there is always something to discover in Stanley Park.
